Drug addiction, also called substance dependence or dependence syndrome, is a condition where a person feels a strong need to take a drug. Addiction also involves other behaviors. These include finding it difficult to control the need to use the drug and feeling the use of the drug to be more important than more normal things such as family or work. Drug addiction is considered to be a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug-seeking, by continued use despite serious negative socioeconomic and health consequences, and by loss of control over drug use.

As you all know how Drug Addiction has become a major issue in Kashmir, so to discuss about this issue we invited several guests and organized a seminar which was hosted by Aafiya and she started program gracefully and invited our first guest Dr. Syed Masood to give a speech . He said that the problem of drug abuse acquired new and alarming dimensions. After that Mr. Mohd Shakeel Saifi  who explained the role of society in controlling drug addiction. In order to highlight this in an entertainment way rapper Ashu  from Sopore town who gave a beautiful message and also sung a well versed rap about this issue. At the end the administrative officer of Sanctorum Institute Lalad Sopore, Mr. Haji Mohammad Ramazan dar give the final conclusion and thanked the honored guests.
