Sanctorum College of Education is one of the primer teachers training Institute of Education in the private sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The college is a unit of the Sopore Educational Trust that has been established with an objective of promoting Educational values among the public in general and the students in particular without any discrimination of caste, color and creed. The Trust is absolutely non-political having links between the government recognized organization, institutions, departments and agencies that are pursuing the cause of achieving excellence in Education.
The college made a modest beginning in the year 2006 after proper permission by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir vide Permission Letter No.HE/Recog/Pvt-instt/18/B,Ed/2006 dated:24/07/2006 besides seeking the temporary affiliation to the NAAC Accredited Grade A + university of Kashmir vide affiliation Letter No. (Affi – B.Ed)Acad/KU/06 dated:11-09- 2006 duly turned to Permanent affiliation vide Dean Office Letter No. F(Affil-B.Ed- Sanctorium)CDC/KU dated 26/3/2019. The College is also Granted the permission by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to M.Ed Course vide permission letter No. HE/Recog- 03/SET/M.Ed/09 dated 6/10/2009 which is now considered by the University of Kashmir and provided the affiliation vide affiliation letter No. F(Affiliation-M.Ed)Acad KU/21 dated 25-11- 2021 after the construction of a separate Academic Block and NAAC Accreditation.
The college is administrated strictly as per the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and the University of Kashmir. The recruitment of staff, fee structure and the salary to employees is paid to the best desire and directions issued by the Government and the University of Kashmir time in time.
Ever since its inception the college has successfully managed all the batches of B.Ed Courses and recorded constantly very good results in the examinations conducted by the University of Kashmir. Some students topped and set a trend of good results that has favored in seeking the Permanent Affiliation besides the expansion extension of the Physical & Academic Infrastructure.
The college has the democratic and decentralized type of administration which is assisted by the committees that are constituted to extend support to the college administration in the matters related to Social Activities, Practice of Teaching besides the developments in Physical and Academic infrastructure.
Encouraged with the overall growth and development of the college, the management is successful in NAAC Accreditation besides the recognition under sections 2(f) & 12(b) of the University Grants Commission New Delhi on the basis of its facilities & functions which will further improve by dedicated Staff and sincere Students.
