Legal Awareness Camp

Date- 22/03/2021

Venue- Auditorium

Guests of honour- Advocate Owais Javed & Advocate Shah Imran

World water day is observed every year on 22nd March all over the world. It focuses attention on the importance of water and how to preserve it. Our College organized “Legal Awareness Camp” in collaboration with “Tehsil Legal Service Committee”

Programme was started at around 11:00am with the beautiful Quran recitation by Mr.Manzoor Ahmad. The content of the celebration was very much clear looking at the vagaries of water related issues and mainly focused on awareness of the importance of freshwater. At the beginning of the programme our Administrative officer Haji M.R.Dar spoke about the effort to spread awareness about conserving groundwater and proper utilization of rainwater. He further went on saying that this programme aims to make people aware of depleting groundwater level, which could lead to a water crisis in the coming years. More than 3 billion people around the world are feeling the effects of water shortages, as the amount of available freshwater has dipped by more than 20% over the past two decades. Of the 3.2 billion people suffering from water shortages, 1.2 billion people or one-sixth of the world’s population are experiencing severe water shortages or even dry spell.

As we know water is essential for life, without water we cannot survive. If there was no water there would be no life on earth. Adding to this, our guest Adv. Owais Javed threw light on the ways and means beforehand the type of awareness to be spread to have a fruitful and steady impact. Our next guest Adv Shah Imran spoke about the importance of water. Without water, life is not possible on the earth. We totally rely on water for public health and equitable progress. It is essential for food and energy security. It is necessary to understand the importance of water and its use. Water has complex and extensive value for our households, food, culture, health, education etc. We should plant trees, restore wetlands etc that will help to rebalance the water cycle. So, world water day is celebrated worldwide in order to create awareness among masses. Lastly, our activity coordinator concluded by giving vote of thanks to the guests, faculty members and participants.
